Both SWEET AND SOUR, this cucumber salad is a favorite! We have it throughout the year, not just in the summer! It is low in calories, too.
My husband Bill asks for this often. This recipe serves even more than 8 so it’s good for a party. Usually I cut the recipe in half for 2 or 4 people.
It is a great way to use up extra cucumbers in the garden!

There are many names in different countries for a cucumber salad that is similar to this! Sometimes it is called German Cucumber Salad, or Sweet and Salad Cucumbers, or Southern Cucumbers since it is popular in the southern US. The Polish Mizeria is pretty much the same too.
My first introduction to this great salad was in Amish Country in Pennsylvania, when I was about 12! It was Gurkensalat on their menu! And I was hooked!
I’ve called it so many names through the decades! It tastes wonderfully sweet and sour so I use that to describe it to people who’ve never had it!
