“How can this be that surprisingly tasty when it is simple, fast, and has just a few ingredients?  I can only think it is because the steak is so thin that the wine and herbs really soak into every fiber of the steak.   Could it be because of  all the changing in the heat as you cook it?  I’m really not sure why, but trust me, this is yummy!

This very quick steak and wine recipe is done in under ten minutes.

Sometimes I just crave the taste of the delicious juice this makes.  Enjoy!”

Servings: 2

2 tablespoons butter
1 large onion, sliced
8 ounces minute steak, use very thinly cut sirloin or round steaks
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce or your favorite steak sauce
2 tablespoons chopped parsley
4 ounces red wine
1 tablespoon water

1. In a large skillet over medium heat, saute the butter and onions for a few minutes until onions are almost tender.
2. Raise the heat to medium high, add the steak and brown it quickly on both sides for a few minutes.
3. Lower the heat and add the salt, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, wine, and water and let this simmer together for another minute or two to heat it throughly.  (Go ahead, I know you want to add a few more splashes of wine!)
4. Serve immediately.
