Cream Cheese Pie with Glazed Fresh Fruit

“Here is an easy fruit topping glaze using apple jelly; it is great for preserving the fruit on top of cheesecakes and tarts. Use it on whatever fruit you wish. It is clear and gives a nice sheen to the fruit without any added taste or thickness.   You don’t have to buy a commercial glaze product (I don’t like the taste of these!)  or you don’t have to make one with cornstarch and fruit juice which can be too starchy and have an added sweet taste you don’t want. This amount in the recipe covers the fruit on top of a whole pie.  It is my favorite fruit glaze.  Enjoy!”

INGREDIENTS:

½ c. apple jelly

1 tablespoon water

DIRECTIONS:

  1. In a small microwaveable dish combine the apple jelly and water.
  2. Heat in the microwave for 15-20 seconds until the apple jelly liquefies.
  3. Let it cool for a few minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, arrange fruit on top of your dessert.
  5. With a pastry brush, apply apple jelly to preserve the fruit.
  6. Store dessert covered in refrigerator.
