If you like the flavor of anise, treat yourself to this easy biscotti!

There are only 4 ingredients!

Anise seeds come in jars in the spice section of your market.

Anise seeds come from the anise plant that’s native to the eastern Mediterranean region and Southwest Asia. The seeds have a licorice-like flavor that’s refreshing, fruity, and bitter at the same time. I love anise flavor!

This recipe takes under 5 minutes to mix together! They are twice-baked, so that is what takes a little time and care. But they are not hard to make at all!

They are hard and crunchy. If you’d like them to be semi-soft, then just bake the slices on one side rather than both sides.

At lot of people like to dunk anise toast in coffee, tea, or milk.   I do that too, and I like to just eat them plain!

Of course, homemade anise toast is so much better than the kind you buy in the store!

An added bonus: One anise toast is only 69 calories or 3 Weight Watcher Smart Points!

Enjoy!

  • cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon anise seeds
  • 1 cups flour

  • Place the slices flat side down on the buttered baking sheet pan.

If you love the store bought ones, try these! Healthier, and more delicious! I buy the McCormick spices in the glass jars and that brand carries anise seeds (expensive, but they last). There is another brand that I cannot think of the name, a red label, and they sell it too (same high price). Let me know how you do with these. I think you will love them!
